Field Observation Report

Location:

Summary:
A mother raccon moves her young.

Often times, I take my camera out with a specific purpose or photograph in mind. Most of the time, I fail to see what I was hoping for. But sometimes, I see something better than I planned.

To be honest, I don't know much about the common raccoon (Procyon lotor) and since they are usually active when squirrels are asleep, I don't see them very often.

But one evening, I saw a mother raccoon moving her pups from one tree hole to somewhere high in a pine.

The young didn't move or squirm as the mother hauled them down the tree,

And up with other. I saw her move two babies, and mounted my long lens in hopes I would see her again, but she didn't come back.
