A fox squirrel plows through snow on its way closer to its dray.  Unlike rabbits, a squirrel’s path through the snow is usually a straight line from one point to another.  Although fox squirrels spend more time on the ground than many other tree squirrel species, they still prefer to avoid trudging through the snow by taking an arboreal route when possible.
